How to get through quarantine.. Facetime photoshoot & chicken soup

44 days.. Yep I cant believe it! So what have you been doing with your time? Hmmmm well.. Im going to be super honest some days I have been so productive and others, well I don’t think I’ve had this much sleep in years put it that way lol!!

But here is the thing, its OK!! Nobody can recommend how you should feel or what you should or shouldn’t be doing with everything going on. No one has been though something like this before.

My biggest thing I can say to anyone on how to live life though this is this try and stay consistent. Try and keep on a routine. Put on your makeup, do your hair, exercise , prep meals try and keep some normal. If a lazy day comes along take it and just like staying on a diet or meal plan get back on your routine the next day and move on! Don’t dwell on it.

My first ever face time Photoshoot yep just as it sounds.. Factime is on with the phographer and shes shooting thought the phone!! How to social distance and create at its finest! We wanted to create light of the “Person working from home on quarantine ” LOL!! Comfy in my http://www.straptapparel.com shorts while looking like business as usual, little did the boss see wine in my mug on the desk instead of java hahah

Anyways that totally brighten my spirits and made my day the photographer the lovely Kate Jensen photography from Calgary alberta !! Shes fantastic ! You can check her work out here http://katejensenphotography.com

I know alot of you have been cooking and baking which is fantastic!! There are so many meals and desert ideas to chose from to make I sometimes just end up going back to the basics casue I know what works. I have been playing with my Ninja https://www.ninjakitchen.com/air-fryers/

Im not paid too say this I just love this thing so much! Chicken  seriously cooks like a dream!! 4 chicken breasts marinated in one of my favourite spice packs I follow on Instagram- Tasty!

12 minutes at 390 and the chicken are cooked to perfection , crispy on the out side and juicy on the inside! Add a side salad bam your done! I dont know why but I was craving chicken soup yesterday so I decided to look though my pantry and see what I could come up with.

Again one thing I have found about being on quarantine is that everything is being used in the pantry and Im creating dishes that are not only healthy and tasy  but are good on the pocket book. Here’s what I did for money saving healthy chicken soup!

  • With the chicken Brest I cooked up already I cut two pieces into small cubes
  • 2 containers of low soduim chicken broth
  • 4 large carrots
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 1 celery stock
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 4 tbs. Rosemary
  • 5 Bay leafs
  • 1 Cup Marconi noodles cooked
  • Sea Salt

Dice up veggies and add to large pot with butter . Brown veggies in butter. Add chicken, rosemary, chicken broth, bay leafs and sea salt. Let simmer for 15 mins. Add in macaroni noodles and simmer again for 10 mins. DONE!!! its sooo yummo!!

Anyways I hope you try it and let me know what you think! Dont get down on yourself, keep consistent and keep going!

Hugs Heidi
